Bosch CDR Direct-to-Module (D2M) cables provide the connections needed to retrieve Event Data Recorder (EDR) crash data directly from supported vehicle modules when retrieval through the vehicle’s DLC/OBD port is not possible or appropriate.

Direct-to-module imaging is an important capability for crash investigators, particularly when a vehicle is severely damaged, has lost power, has compromised vehicle wiring or communication networks, or when the Bosch CDR Help File specifies a direct connection to the module.

What Are Bosch CDR Direct-to-Module Cables?

Bosch CDR D2M cables are vehicle- and module-specific cables used with the Bosch CDR Tool to establish communication directly with a supported module containing EDR data. Depending on the vehicle, this may include an Airbag Control Module (ACM), Restraint Control Module (RCM), or other supported safety system module.

Unlike a DLC retrieval, which communicates with the EDR through the vehicle's diagnostic connector and network, a direct-to-module retrieval bypasses the vehicle network and connects the CDR Tool directly to the appropriate module.
