Why is the CDR 500 FlexRay Adapter Used?

FlexRay is a high-speed vehicle communication protocol used in certain vehicle systems and requires a different interface than conventional CAN-based communication. The CDR 500 FlexRay Adapter provides the necessary interface between the Bosch CDR Tool and supported FlexRay-equipped vehicle systems, allowing the CDR Tool to properly communicate with and image EDR data from designated modules.

The CDR 500 is not a universal adapter and is only required for specific Bosch CDR-supported applications.
