NEW Hyundai/Kia EDR 2.0 VCI for 2025
The Hyundai / Kia Combo EDR Tool Hardware kit has been redesigned for 2025. The new EDR 2.0 VCI includes a faster interface and includes built in FD-CAN. This means you do NOT need the CFCI Adapter for Driect-to-module downloads. This kit contains all the hardware and software required to perform a DLC/OBD retrieval of EDR data in most 2013 and newer Hyundai and Kia supported vehicles. It includes "2" EDR 2.0 VCIs. It does NOT include any of the Hyundai and Kia ACU cables/adapters required for direct-to-module downloads.
Tools for downloading the EDRs in Hyundai and Kia vehicles have been developed only for vehicles produced after September 1, 2012. Currently, there is no tool for downloading accurate data from the EDRs in Hyundai and Kia produced vehicles prior to this date.
Hyundai and Kia EDR Software Licenses SOLD SEPARATELY
The Hyundai / Kia Combo EDR Tool Hardware kit requires a Hyundai EDR software license AND a Kia EDR software license. Software will only work with authentic North American Hyundai and Kia VCI modules (included in this kit).

GIT Hyundai and Kia EDR Kit Frequently Asked Questions
Which Hyundai and Kia vehicles are supported by the EDR tool kits?
In general, most 2013 model year and newer vehicles sold in the USA are supported. The vehicle MUST have a production build date of September 1, 2012 or newer. There is no EDR tool available for vehicles produced prior to this date.
The Kia EDR Tool supports Kia brand vehicles ONLY.
The Hyundai EDR Tool supports Hyundai and Genesis brands ONLY.
Will these EDR tool kits support vehicles sold in Canada?
Yes, if the vehicle model was also sold in the USA and meets the build date limitation listed above. The Kia Rondo (a Canada only model) for example, is NOT supported by the Kia EDR tool.
Do I need a software license to use the Hyundai or Kia EDR tools?
Yes, each tool requires a dedicated software license. One license for the Hyundai VCI and one license for the Kia VCI.
Is an active (non-expired) license required to use the Hyundai and Kia EDR tool kits?
Yes, a current, dedicated brand software license is REQUIRED to use each EDR tool. If your license is expired, you will NOT be able to use your EDR tool until the license is renewed.
The Hyundai and Kia VCIs look remarkably similar. May I purchase one VCI tool and a license for each brand?
No. Although the product's appearance is identical, it can only be used with one license per unit. Therefore, separate hardware (VCI) is required for Hyundai and Kia software, respectively.
I already own a GIT Hyundai and/or Kia EDR tool kit. May I renew my software license through Crash Data Group?
Yes! Crash Data Group can process your software license renewal. Contact us for more details.
What is included in the Hyundai and Kia EDR tool kits?
Each kit includes components required to download supported vehicles through the DLC/OBDII port. The components needed for D2M (direct -to-module) downloads of Airbag Control Units ARE NOT included with the EDR kits and must be purchased separately.
For a detailed list of components included in the Hyundai/Kia kits, please review their corresponding product page on our website.
