EDR Software Licenses for Hyundai and Kia

In order to successfully image the crash data from Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia supported vehicles, you will need to purchase the Hyundai and Kia EDR Kit and purchase a software license for both Hyundai and Kia.

Overview of GIT Software License Policy

  • START DATE: All software license subscriptions will start when activated after purchase. It may take up to 5 business days to activate a new license.

  • END DATE: All software license subscriptions will end on March 31. All new software licenses will be pro-rated to match the expiration date. Software licenses will be good for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 23 months. This is why there is a variation of software prices. Once on the April 1 to March 31 subscription period, you will stay on the 1-year cycle and annual pricing unless you let your software license expire, then it will revert to a pro-rated subscription period.

  • RENEWAL: You must renew your software license before the expiration date or the license ID will be deactivated by GIT and a new subscription license will be required.
  • NEW LICENSE PRICING: Pricing will be based on the number of months required to create a software license that will have an expiration date of March 31 (minimum of 12 months, maximum of 23 months to get you to the appropriate March 31st date). The monthly price break-down is $75/month. The total pricing varies because your subscription is based on the number of months to create an expiration date to March 31. Anywhere between 12 and 23 months of subscription, but the monthly rate calculation number is constant.

  • Month Purchased: This column represents the month-year you purchased your software license. 

  • End: This column represents the End Date of your software license based on when you purchased your software license. Remember, once on the April 1 - March 31 subscription period, you will stay on the 1-year cycle unless you do not renew on time.

  • Duration Months: This column represents the number of months your software license will be active. This is why the price will vary UNTIL you are on the April 1 to March 31 time frame.

  • License Subscription Total Cost: This column represents the cost of the software license due based on the Subscription Period. The calculation is Duration Months X Monthly Cost Breakdown. 

  • Monthly Cost Breakdown: This column represents the monthly cost of the software license. The formula is License Subscription Total Cost/Duration Months.
