Hyundai EDR Software Renewal - Must Choose Your Current Expiration Date For Correct Pricing

MUST READ BEFORE RENEWING YOUR HYUNDAI and/or KIA EDR SOFTWARE LICENSE

As of September 2024, GIT America has implemented NEW policy changes for Hyundai and Kia EDR software license subscriptions. Their (GIT America) goal is to have every subscription expire on March 31. This new policy came without warning and is already in effect!

PLEASE NOTE: This only applies to Hyundai and Kia EDR Software License subscriptions. This new policy DOES NOT apply to your BOSCH CDR License subscription.

Overview of the New Software License Policy

• START DATE: All software license subscriptions will start on the first day of the month following the existing expiration date or new software purchase date. All renewal software licenses will be converted to an April 1 to March 31 annual license.
  
  
• END DATE: All software license subscriptions will end on March 31. Once on the April 1 to March 31 subscription period, you will stay on the 1-year cycle unless you do not renew on time.
  
  
• RENEWAL: You must renew your software license before the expiration date or the license ID will be deactivated and a new subscription license will be required. 
  If you want to EXTEND your current license at the old pricing you need to do it BEFORE the date listed in column "Payment or PO Due Date" (see table below).
  NOTE:
  • all renewal extensions in October 2024 need to be renewed BEFORE November 1, 2024.
  • all renewal extensions in November 2024 need to be renewed BEFORE December 1, 2024.
  • all renewal extensions in December 2024 need to be renewed BEFORE January 1, 2025.
  • all renewal extensions in January 2025 need to be renewed BEFORE Feb 1, 2025.
  • all renewal extensions from February 2025 through February 2026 need to be renewed BEFORE March 1, 2025
    
    
• To renew online, please choose the correct date your CURRENT KIA or HYUNDAI software license expires. If your license expires between September 1-30, 2024 - choose the Sep. 2024 option and the correct renewal price will appear.

• PRICING: RENEWAL: Pricing will be determined on the old software license price of $825.00 per year ($68.75/month) if you renew (extend) your current subscription license by the date listed in the "Payment or PO Due Date" column from the table. Pricing will be based on the number of months required to renew or extend your software license to March 31, 2026 or March 2027 (depending on your renewal expiration date).
  
  
• PRICING: NEW LICENSE: New software licenses will be priced at the the old software license price of $825.00 per year ($68.75/month) if purchased BEFORE January 1, 2025. New pricing will take effect on January 1, 2025 and will be priced at $75.00/month. Pricing will be based on the number of months required to create a software license that will have an expiration date of March 31, 2026 or March 31, 2027.

Software License Renewal Online 

Crash Data Group has made it easy for you to renew your Hyundai or Kia software license online. We used the information in the calculation table below to create expiration date renewal options on the ordering page.

Simply select the button that correlates to YOUR current Hyundai or Kia software license expiration date and the appropriate cost will appear. Then, select the quantity if you have more than one license to renew. Finally, click the ADD TO CART. We will handle the rest.

The pricing varies because your subscription is based on the number of months to create an expiration date to March 31. Some are 12 months of subscription and some are 23 months of subscription, but the monthly rate calculation number is constant.

The example below is how you would select a software license subscription that expired between September 1-30, 2024. QTY of 1 is a single-user license. The screen shot is from the Kia EDR Software Renewal page. This example creates your subscription for 18 months.

How To Use The Table

• Month of Renewal: This column represents the month-year your current software license expires. You must renew by your expiration date or your software license will be disabled and you will need to purchase a new software license.
  
  
• Subscription Period: These two columns represent the Start Date and End Date of your software license based on when your software license expires. Remember, once on the April 1 - March 31 subscription period, you will stay on the 1-year cycle unless you do not renew on time.
  
  
• Duration Months: This column represents the number of months your software license will be active based on Month of Renewal and Subscription Period. This is why the price to renew will vary UNTIL you are on the April 1 to March 31 time frame.
  
  
• License Subscription Total Cost: This column represents the cost of the software license due based on the Subscription Period. The calculation is Duration Months X Cost. 
  
  
• Monthly Cost Breakdown: This column represents the monthly cost of the software license.
• If the cell is colored "orange" that represent "old" annual pricing ($825/12=$68.75).
• If the cell is colored "green" that represents "new" annual pricing ($900/12=$75.00)
  
  
• Payment of PO Due Date: The column represents the Deadline Date Crash Data Group needs to receive your payment or signed government purchase order to qualify for the given Subscription Period.
• If this date passes and we have NOT received payment or a signed government purchase order, the subscription period and cost will change to the date we DO receive your payment or a signed government purchase order.
• If you request a Quote from Crash Data Group for renewal of your Hyundai and/or Kia software license, the Quote will have an expiration date based on this column. No expired quotes will be accepted.
  
  
• The Renewal Calculation Table represents a single software license subscription for either Hyundai OR Kia.
• If you are renewing both Hyundai and Kia software license subscriptions, you will need to calculate the cost of the Hyundai then calculate the cost of Kia, then add those two together for the total costs.
• If you have multiple software licenses, you will need to multiply the cost by the number of licenses you wish to renew.

Examples

1. Customer has a current software subscription that expires May 12, 2025. The renewal/extension cost would be $1,512.50 for a Hyundai and $1,512.50 for a Kia or $3,025.00 for both Hyundai and Kia combined. This would extend the subscription until March 31, 2027 and covers 22 months at the OLD price structure of $68.75/month for each software license. 
   CAVEAT: Must purchase this renewal/extension BEFORE March 1, 2025.
   If the customer waits until May 13, 2025 (or later) to renew, the license would expire and the customer would need to purchase a NEW software license at the NEW price structure of $75.00/month for each software license. See New Software License Calculation Table.
   
   
2. Customer has a current software subscription that expires December 3, 2024. The renewal/extension cost would be $1,031.25 for a Hyundai and $1,031.25 for a Kia or $2062.50 for both Hyundai and Kia combined. This would extend the subscription until March 31, 2026 and covers 15 months at the OLD price structure of $68.75/month for each software license. 
   CAVEAT: Must purchase this renewal/extension BEFORE January 1, 2025

IMPORTANT: After purchase, GIT will activate your software subscriptions. Please be informed that it may take up to 5 business days (or more) to receive your activation credentials with User ID and Password. You will receive a User ID and Password for the Hyundai Software and another User ID and Password for the Kia Software.

IMPORTANT!!  When you purchase a GIT EDR Software license, you have the choice of a "one time purchase" or "subscribe".

The "one time purchase" is purchasing the GIT EDR Software license. At the end of the subscription, you will be responsible for purchasing a renewal license.

The "subscribe" is purchasing the GIT EDR Software as an "automatic renewal" of your EDR software license. The system securely stores your subscription information and charges your credit card automatically. DO NOT try to renew your software on the Crash Data Group website as this will create a new and separate license. Please remember all software sales are final and cannot be refunded. If you are not sure if you are on the "subscribe" plan, please contact Crash Data Group before making another software license purchase. If you have changed or updated your credit card, the system will notify you with a link to update your credit card information when it attempts to renew your EDR software license.

The GIT software licensing program may send out a renewal notices to ALL subscribers, regardless if they purchased the "one time purchase" option or the "subscribe" option. If you are on the "subscribe" options, DO NOT renew your software license through the link provided in the GIT email. Remember, your software is set to auto renew on your anniversary date.

Once you purchase GIT EDR software, the order is final. Be sure you understand the difference between "one time purchase" and "subscribe" before ordering.  Crash Data Group does not offer refunds on CDR software license purchases.
