Event Data Recorder (EDR) pricing depends on whether you’re considering buying the actual hardware/software tools to access the data, or the services of a professional who downloads and/or interprets EDR data. Below is a breakdown of the pricing for the various EDR Tools.

Bosch CDR Tool Kit (North American market):

Bosch CDR DLC Tool Kit
- contains all hardware required to perform a DLC/OBD retrieval of EDR data supported by the Bosch CDR 900 VCI as stated in the Bosch CDR Help File
- includes the first year of the CDR software license
- includes a hard-shell carrying case with protection foam and lid pocket
- MSRP: $6,000.00 USD

- Single-user, one year license: $1,500.00 USD
- Multi-user, one year license
- 10-24 users: $1350.00 USD per user
- 25-49 users: $1275.00 USD per user
- 50-99 users: $1200.00 USD per user
- 100+ users: $1,125.00 USD per user

Bosch Direct-to-module (D2M) Cables
- currently over 100 different cables/adapters for connecting the CDR Tool directly to the vehicles module storing EDR data (not DLC/OBII)
- D2M cables range from $175.00 - $550.00 US per cable. A majority of the D2M cables are $285.00 US each.

- Used for vehicles using the FlexRay vehicle communications protocol

GIT America EDR Tool Kit (Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia)

Hiring EDR Services
If you do not own an EDR Tool, another option is to hire an expert. Crash Data Group does not provide expert services, but we do host an online directory of experts - The Crash Hub. The following is a very brief overview of the 3rd party expert pricing. Pricing varies by region, expertise, and case complexity.

Basic EDR Download (single vehicle, DLC method):
- Typically $500 - $2000
- Pricing may increase if direct-to-module imaging is necessary

EDR Report Analysis/Interpretation:
- $1,500 - $5,000 and up, depending on depth of reconstruction. Typically this price does not include situationally complete accident reconstruction (human/vehicle/environment). Cost may also increase for specialized experts like biomechanical experts for an analysis on injury.
